Gymnosperms
Lifecycle
The Gymnosperm is mostly present in the mature Sporophyte state. The male cones (male gametophyte) first produces haploid microspores that develope into pollen. Those pollen are transferred by wind to the female cone (female gametophyte) of a different gymnosperm and fertilizes it. There it forms a diploid zygote which developes into two seeds with papery wings. Those fly out of the mature female seed cone by wind and if they land on a good spot, the seeds germinate and develope into a mature tree.
